Les Irisées, Acrylic on Baryta Paper, 2018-2019

My artistic practice focuses on the exploration of the feminine archetypes and its expression through playing with different stories and myths. I am interested in playing with well-known archetypal energies, which are found in tarot cards, astrology, storytelling and mythology. In this series I use a mix of portrait photography and painting which enables me to paint an imagined story, landscape and archetype which matches my models. I play dress-up with bright colors, patterns and symbols which I paint directly onto portraits from the photographic print.

The Celestial Cave, Major Arcana Tarot Cards, 2018

In this set of Tarot Cards, I explore through self-portraits, the many different archetypes of the Major Arcana of Tarot, through my own feelings, perspective and life experience. I mix photography and painting in this series, producing imagined inner landscapes which are projected upon my own body and into the Celestial Cave. The Celestial Cave is a place both connected to the inner and outer world, to the grounded, and non-physical space. The Celestial Cave is also a reference to the universe at large, the cosmos and the divine yoni, from which all life form is created. Enter the Celestial Cave; May you witness yourself dancing with the illusions within the void.

Sarah, Unfold, Bliss, Analog Collage, 2017

This is a collage made of analog color prints, made in the darkroom. I superpose images from my own making, into an inner landscape, mixing micro and macro perspectives, inserting my model Sarah into images that were taken with a macro lens. I explore scale and mix landscapes, bits of nature, crystals and portraits together; the result is a world of its own. I explore here the feminine body and its link to nature, and even the myth of Medusa in one of the images. The series is an exploration of the language intricate to the body, women and nature, and how they play amongst each other. I inspired myself by my beautiful model, an empowered women with a beautiful soul.
